REGINA After months of anticipation music fans from all over will be flocking to tiny for tomorrow's opening day of the 2014 Gateway Festival.
"I'd be lying if I didn't confess that the stress of having those big shoes to fill didn't leave me with more than a few grey hairs," Dawson jokes. "In a sincere effort to not leave anyone disappointed who had purchased tickets we added three acclaimed acts in their place The Sadies, Ridley Bent, and The Northern Pikes."
Dawson admits it's just something that comes with the territory.
"With this being the 10th anniversary of Gateway we've been working throughout the year to try and enhance to overall experience for our audience," he continues. "Last year was fantastic and we received a lot of overwhelming feedback but I think it's integral to continually improve the experience for festival Converse Buy Uk attendees each year. For instance we've made several additions to the festival site including more vendors, washrooms, etc.
"There is a truly amazing group of people who come together to make it all happen. Excitement has been building all year for the celebration of the 10th anniversary and it's to the point now where it's starting to bubble over. We've already sold enough advance tickets to ensure this will be the second biggest year in the festivals history and of course tickets are still moving like crazy."
"In both cases circumstances arose in which the artists had to cancel some of their commitments. While it's a little bit frustrating and I'm a big fan of them, in both cases it was completely out of everyone hands so I just had to roll with the punches and keep our line up evolving. My fingers are crossed that we can have them both back next summer.

Dawson is also quick to point out that The Gateway Festival only works because of the incredible support of the local community and the fact the whole town gets behind the event.
Leading up to the festival, which features mainstream acts like The Sheepdogs, Tim Hicks, and Bend Sinister, Dawson had to scramble to replace primary acts Justin Townes Earle and Daniel Romano, with Earle considered a major draw.
