As Jackett says, he did little if anything wrong at Gillingham but his main weakness has always been his distribution.
His performance earned warm plaudits from Jackett and provided a much needed confidence lift after a difficult decline in Elokobi's career triggered by injuries and loss of form.
George is a nice guy, and perhaps has been rather unlucky with injuries, but I feel that his time at Molineux will be ended in May.
Mid Jan still no striker or defensive midfielder, Jackett is going the same way as our other managers after a very good start.
I have supported Wolves since 1947 and had a season ticket for years up until osteoarthritis kicked in.
Is this really the best we can do in the transfer window?
This is not the way to get promoted.
To be honest, I am starting to get concerned about the apparent lack of activity regarding Womens Converse All Star Ox Iii Catwoman Dc Trainers
Bradford striker Nahki Wells, who had interested Wolves, has signed for Huddersfield in a club record deal.
Jackett is really starting to worry me, first Edwards answer to midfield and can score goals!!! Now Gerorge our new CB, sounds as though he is getting ready for the inevitable that Danny Batth will be leaving.
Agree with most of the postings but doesn it make you mad to have this wall of silence coming from Morgan and Moxey.
It a pity that Nahki Wells has gone to Huddersfield, as I thought he would have been ideal to solve the problem we have in the striking department. But you can blame the lad for choosing to play at a higher level than league one.
due Converse All Star 2 Low Tops to his ability on the ball a candidate to move into midfield. He has shown how strong he is running with the ball from deeper positions and his ability to link effectively with other players and Converse Sale Shoes
To be fair he has played better at CB than LB.
George may prove to be a very good central defender due to his strength and size. KJ has recognized at this point in his career he may be able to re invent himself as a competent central defender. I applaud KJ general vision regarding this change hope he is proved correct time will tell. I for one believe Doyle who has lost his strikers mojo may prove Converse All Star For Girls Price
a striker. What we have had so far from KJ is rhetoric. "Everyone is after a striker and we are no different".
I would agree with KJ on that, big George hasn got the pace now, after suffering so many serious injuries. He could be a good back up CH, behind Batth and Stearman, which free up Ebanks Landell, and Ricketts, to play elsewere in the back four too. Whenever i seen him play CH, he done a decent job of it, his certaintly big and strong enough, and wins most of the headers, but his passing leaves a lot to be desired even more so these days, than in the past. But hey I like big George, and he loves Wolves and the fans too. GOOD LUCK TODAY LADS: UTW:
Makes you wonder what the scouts are doing, or is it again Moxey Morgan who have said no!
And Jackett still hasn't closed the book on Zele Ismail, who has gone to Burton on loan. "He went to MK Dons last season but did not play much football there in the end hopefully he will at Burton," said Jackett. "It is a good life experience for young players."
But the rampaging left back Mick McCarthy signed in 2008 is a thing of the past now as Jackett sees a player who will be 28 at the end of this month concentrating on central defence.
George Elokobi set to flourish in new role for Wolves Express Star
Good luck George, 100% whole hearted player. If we don think an outlay of 2m is possible then just how dire are our finances? Where has all the money gone? Hope I am wrong but have a feeling Morgan doesn want to spend anything and hopes the current squad can get us up. He has been totally wrong and misguided in most things he has done at Wolves and fear this is another example of his small minded attitude, his lack of interest and his incompetence.
However tinkering again today will produce a different forward line who may surprise us.
Huddersfield, in their league, moved quickly to tie up this deal. You assume negotiations would start in advance of the window opening to take full advantage of it when it did so, if we are going for anybody at all, something should surely be happening by now. Is it another case of having to ship someone like Siggy out before bringing a new player in? Ideally we should be settling in someone now indeed establishing a settled strike force altogether instead of all this chopping and changing up front.
The Cameroon defender made his seasonal bow in his new role at Gillingham last weekend as Richard Stearman's replacement.
Unfortunately I can get to the Molineux to see the Wolves now but it appears to be a blessing in disguise if seeing them on the TV is a true reflection of what is normal.
Meanwhile, fans hoping Wolves may yet offer a career finale for 40 year old Kevin Phillips, now available after leaving Crystal Palace, have been dealt a blow. It's not been ruled out by Jackett but he said: "He'not someone we've targeted or talked to. But we will see as we go along."
Flying Winger you are so right about Edwards and I too am concerned about the way things are going. Never mind this rubbish about reinventing George at centre back. He has no pace, poor distribution and appears to me he does not read the game very well. Surely the priority should be getting a midfielder and striker in so perhaps it is just a way of covering up the glaring lack of progress in the transfer market. Yes we have signed Henry and Jacob but they were here anyway. Same old rhetoric and nothing changes does it. Will be there today as usual but struggling to see where a goal is coming from reckon and Kevin Davies will be a real thorn in our side. UTW
I not too bothered about Kevin Phillips not coming to Wolves, as I feel we should be looking to the future with younger players. The main objective for the season is obviously promotion, but in part that should include building up a squad of players that can at the very least, establish itself in the championship.
For goodness sake stop tinkering and do something constructive about our feeble strike force.
"In the modern game, full backs have to have attacking ability, to get down the line and effectively become attacking players. I'm not saying he can't do well for us at full back but I think his future is as a central defender now."
his eperience and general vision could be better utilized as an attacking midfielder in the hole behind the strikers. It would be a shame to lose a player that I feel has a lot to offer.
Says Jackett: "George didn't do anything wrong at Gillingham, that's for sure. It was his first start as a centre half for me and that's where I see him playing now.
